  • Identifying contributing factors that lead to the issue

  • Investigating and confirming the root causes

  • Recommending and applying practical and lasting solutions

  • Recommend and implement solutions

After successfully completing the course, participants will be able to:

  • Confidently define a problem and accurately identify its underlying cause and impact

  • Explain the role of PDCA in structured problem-solving

  • Understand and use the “5 Whys” technique as a tool for deep root cause analysis

  • Recognise the value of using affinity diagrams when breaking down complex problems

  • Organise and apply the correct sequence of steps in root cause analysis, using suitable tools at each stage

  • Use diagraphs to visually highlight the most critical areas to target during problem-solving

Once you have completed the course, you will be able to access and download a certificate as proof of your new knowledge and practical capability in root cause analysis.

This course is ideal for individuals from any organisation who are required, in their own work or as part of a formal or ad hoc team, to identify problems and their root causes; and to apply immediate fix and long term solutions.

 
 

There are no formal entry requirements. However, it is recommended that participants:

  • Have some experience or understanding of management systems

  • Are currently working in a management systems-related role
